Episode 19-The Enlistment!

finali! it's 15th dec fri. time for chuan to enlist into the much dreaded ns.

went down to pasir ris bus interchange with ah ma, ah gong, mum, dad and bro. and my super big and heavy bag somemore. took a cab down and the cabby uncle knew imediately i am going ns upon hearing the destination and seeing me with my big bag. super freaky lah! the hardware shop uncle oso. its like i went to buy a lock for the locker with mum and the uncle asked imediately whether is it for ns sia~

reached pasir ris and saw damn lots of pple with bags and the 'enlistment look'. took a coach down to changi air base and took ferry to island pulau tekong!

they r damn cruel lah. parents/relatives/frens are separated from u not long after u disembarked. den we exchanged the pink ic for the green military one. forced to watch some propaganda video for like 3 times while waiting for the oath taking ceremony, telling u why ns is gd, why shoul we go ns blah blah blah.

arron that aj enterprise guy luckili was sitting next to me lah. still can haf some1 to talk to. during the ceremony, the donoe wad commander in charged aka the highest ranking guy in tekong, answered the parents' ques. i guessed most pple were concern about the 1st 2 weeks confinement thingy. since we booked on 15th, by rite our 1st book out shld be 14daes later. but fortunately, since xmas is like 10 days away, we got to book out on 24th and onli book in on 25th nite!

and guess wad? we get a 4 daes break 4 daes after xmas from 29th to 2nd jan 2007! woohoo! poor jan and april pple haf to do teh 14 das confinement thingy~

after the oath taking was the finale-meal sampling. we got to join back to our families and test out the 'doesnt look nice at all and reali don taste delicious at all' canteen food.

den it was bye bye time. quite sad lah. esp when u see all the parents waving gdbye to us kids at the ferry terminal. ok. end of enlistment. stay tuned for next epsiode!
